Arts and crafts at the Arc!

If you love arts and crafts come on down to the Arc, on Fridays from 12pm-2pm commencing Friday 27th July!

Participants will be guided to up cycle books and make birdcages, also participate in book folding by following patterns.

Decorate with books in unusual ways, the book folding project was inspired by the art of Mary Bennett. There are health benefits of book folding for most because it is fun and the end result is satisfying. For others, it is a way to relax; a way to let the day’s tension melt away.

More and more now, care providers and researchers have found that folding paper can help those with medical conditions.

Some therapists have found that this form of origami helps those with low self esteem, anxiety, ADHD, autism, mental retardation, and other psychological conditions. People who have been diagnosed with depression have found that origami gives them hope... Similarly, those who have an addiction may find that origami gives them a focal point on which to apply their energies and the act of folding paper allows some to decrease their level of anxiety.

So come and join in, explore the Arc and perhaps meet new people.
