Employment Bureau Core Services
The bureau provides a range of recruitment and temporary employment services primarily in:
CLERICAL: administration, finance, reception, minute-taking, data input, secretarial
CHILDCARE: Crèche staff, nursery workers and teaching assistants
CARE STAFF/BUDDIES: care workers, domestic workers, support workers
RETAIL: Customer services, store assistants, supervisors
CARE STAFF/BUDDIES: To support children and adults to access activities
CATERING AND EVENT: chefs and catering assistants, customer service
CLEANING: Industrial and commercial
INTERPRETERS/TRANSLATORS in 15 languages
INDUSTRIAL AND WAREHOUSE: Labourers, production staff, forklift drivers and general operatives
CONSTRUCTION: Building and construction trades and labour
The Bureau offers temporary staff from one hour per day as well as "temp to perm" staff that provides a member of staff for 13 weeks who is then employed directly by the client company at no further cost. The Bureau also offers businesses a permanent recruitment service.
Employment Bureau Specialist Services
The bureau also provides specialist short term temporary staff services for particular client needs these include:
- Interpreter/Translators - trained in house (12 languages available) for a minimum of two hours per session. Currently employed to support Children's Centre Family Worker home visits, Social Services home visits and translation of information leaflets. NLC Adult and Children's Services have recently funded training around confidentiality and professionalism for these staff.
- Helping Hand Mobile Crèche service - a two hour crèche service for meetings, wedding receptions, training sessions etc. We offer crèches for a maximum of two hours per day using qualified, trained staff and providing age appropriate, fun activities.
Added Value Services
- Community Consultation Service - employs locally trained staff to consult within the community. To date this service has successfully carried out consultations on behalf of NLC's Strategic Partnership, Children's Centre Customer Satisfaction Survey, Acorns initial consultation with residents and Crosby Pathfinder alleyway closures.
- Staff Management Service employing staff for organisations that are not employing bodies and charging a management fee. Organisations can include small voluntary groups who do not have the skills or capacity to employ directly, companies who want to employ someone on a short-term contract or temporary basis and large organisations such as the local authority. We can advertise and recruit within a minimal timescale.
- CV screening/competency based interviews a fair and unbiased cost effective service allowing for structured clarity and consistency in the screening process. This service will save HR departments and hiring manager's time, hassle and money but more importantly it will allow managers to concentrate on their core duties, ensuring that only suitably vetted CV's are hitting their desks.
